The age of materialism and destruction?
Here’s an intreresting idea. It seems we are intent on killing our planet and the world we need to survive. We are exhausting our resources and every day another species becomes extinct. What for? More material wealth and more choice than we do not need – neither bring us any happiness. But negative messages about our destruction don’t seem to work. Do you believe the world around us reflects what we believe inside? If so, if more and more people focussed on what really brings us happiness – sharing, giving to others, empathy, being rather than doing, bringing more joy into our life, noticing the positive more than the negative – would all this mean we live in a happier world. And what would all this happy energy do for our chances of saving the planet? We have had the dark ages. We have had the middle ages. We have had the industrial age. I sincerely hope in many years to come people do not look back on this age as the age and materialism and destruction
